EAM Orphanage - Fund A Project

Just as in any charitable organisation the needs are always great and are always there. With the statement released by TIME magazine in January 2000, that there are 10 million orphans in Africa, it is going to take us along time before we can say we have reached our goals.

The sponsorship funds go completely to the care of the children. It does provide money to expand and cope with the demands placed on us to care for more children. Kind donations to the Projects allow the orphanage to provide better facilities for the children, such as a new nursery and dining room. It also means that we can take in more children and there are just so many that we feel we could help.

Current Projects

Boys Dormitory - Funding provided by "A Better World" (ABW).
Solar Hot Water System – For newly constructed boys dormitory. Cost is $5,000.
Tented Camp Site – For future accommodation for volunteers and future income for EAMO. Sponsor – Jo Wood, still need $30,000
Draws - For underneath the children's beds @ $130 each we need 50 made. Total is $6500.
School Uniforms inc Shoes - We need 150 @ $45 each. Total is $6,750
Photo Copier – For both the EAMO Primary and High Schools. Cost is $1,200
Pre School Classroom – Sponsored by Angelique Vigneux. Cost is $10,000
Property Purchase – Purchase 50 acre property next door to establish the "EAMO Private Girls School" to secure future income for EAMO.

Completed Projects

EAMO Property Purchase – Completed. Funded by Watson and Sparke families and various individuals.
Girls Dormitory – Completed. Funded by ABW, Canada.
Water Borehole – Completed. Funded by ADRA and ABW.
Water Borehole Upgrade – Completed. Funded by various donors.
Form 1 & 2 Classroom – Completed. Funding arranged by Angelique Vigneux, Canada.
Hot House 100m x 8m – Completed. Providing over 600kgs tomatoes per week.
28 seat Bus – Completed. Funding provided by the Watson family, Melbourne.
Baby Nursery - Completed by – Gecko's, Megan Graham, Katrin Edelmann & various volunteers.
Form 3 and 4 Classrooms – Completed. Funding supplied by Methanex Ltd, Canada.
Primary School – Completed. Building for pre-school, kindergarten, grade 2, 4 & 6. Needs permanent internal walls. Costing $1800.
Hot Houses – Completed. There are 2 more hot houses constructed to frame stage. Need $5000 to finish with PVC plastic and drip lines.
Lining of Dam – Completed. To store approx 3 million litres of water for drip irrigation.
Electric Fence for Security – Completed. Various donors. Major donor - Watson Family
